My dear Professional Colleagues,

The e way Bill for inter-state movement of goods has become applicable from April 1, 2018. The Government has issued a new set of FAQs based on the revamped system of e way Bill .However, Railways has been exempted from generation and carrying of e-way bill (other than leasing of parcel space) with the condition that without the production of e-way bill, railways will not deliver the goods to the recipient. But railways are required to carry invoice or delivery challan etc.GST Practitioners are getting ready to provide best services to their clients for smooth transaction without any hassle.

A big opportunity for our professionals has now come been offered by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs,GOI . The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India has made available valuation examinations for all three asset classes. A person eligible for registration as a registered valuer may submit the application for registration in accordance with the Rules. All the eligible members of our Institute are requested to enroll their name and get themselves their preparedness for the examination conducted by the IBBI without loosing any opportunity.

Our focus always will be on education and awareness. During March,2018 ,EIRC has conducted Orientation programme for the budding professionals which was continued for 12 days commenced on 19th March’2018 and concluded on 30th March,2018 . The Inaugural programme was Chaired by CMA P.M.Chandraiyah , MD BCPL  CMA Amitabh Mukherjee ,GM(F),RVNL, CMA Harijivan Banerjee  ,Past President and CMA Amal Kr.Das,Past President of the Institute.The sessions in all the days were conducted by eminent speakers who have shared their knowledge with the participants for their preparedness  both on-Campus and Off-Campus  Interviews arranged by the Institute or Direct by themselves. The Valedictory Session was graced by CMA A.K.Basu, Director (F) of MSTC in presence of the undersigned and CCMs from ER CMA A.Goswami & CMA  B.Basu .During March,2018 EIRC organized three workshops , one on 14th March, 2018 on the theme ““Paradigm Shift in Indian Valuation – Scope for CMAs”   .The Key Speaker was Sri Sandip Kr. Deb, Practitioner Valuer , on 23rd  March, 2018 on the theme  "FEMA & Foreign Trade Policy " .Speaker was CMA Timir Baran Chatterjee, Tax Consultantand other on 29th March’18 on the theme  “Companies Amendment Act, 2017 & Rules 2018". CS Ravi Verma was the speaker on the subject matter. 


Howrah Chapter has also organized two numbers of seminar on the theme “Recent Changes in GST & E-way Bill” on 24th March,2018 . The Speaker was CMA Timir Baran Chatterjee and another on 30th March, 2018 on 30th March, 2018 on “IND-AS and Companies Amendment Act’17.The Speakers were Sri Hansraj Jadia and Sri Somani.

Serampore Chapter of Cost Accountants has organized its Silver Jubileee Seminar on 11th March, 2018 on the theme “Preparing the next for the best : Vision Skill India” .Our Vice President CMA H.Padmanavan was the Chief Guest in that seminar.

Regional Chapters meet in the Eastern Region has been organized by the Institute on 10th March’18 at J.N.Bose Auditorium , Kolkata. The key speaker was the Vice President of our Institute. A very good lively educational program was organized in the first session and the second session was mainly on interactive with the representative of the Chapters for the development of the Professin.

NCC of the Institute was held  at Vigyan Bhawan , New Delhi on 16th & 17th March,2018 on the  theme “ New India – 2022 – Role of CMAs from intent to action “. The conference was graced by Hon’ble Vice President of India Sri Venkaiya Naidu , Hon’ble Minister of Commerce & Industries ,GOI Sri Suresh Prabhu,  , Hon’ble Minister for Rlys & Coal Sri Pijush Goel, ,GOI  Hon’ble Minister for Corporate Affairs,GOI Sri P.P.Chowdhury,.  There was galaxy of speakers in all the sessions in presence of more than 1800 participants from all the regions in India and abroad.

I appeal to all members of this region to promote the highest standards of accounting and costing; increase professional knowledge and skills; support students infrastructure; create stronger bonds with relevant professional bodies to further the interests of the profession; generate new learning modules and increase representations and research papers to put our views strongly across relevant bodies.
